Abstract:
These days, the increased demand for electric powered electricity has brought about extra most economical and safe use of electrical energy. The operation of strength systems in a strong and dependable manner has been become a very crucial works. A flexible alternating current transmission structures play a crucial role in controlling and operating electricity systems. Further to enhance the voltage and frequency stability of the strength structures with FACTS elements, they're also control strength switch inside the line. A phase shifting transformers are considered as FACTS elements which can be generally used for varying voltage segment attitude between systems which presents controlling of lively energy switch. This study, power stability was analyzed by the influence of delta-hexagonal phase shifting transformer type which suitable for Matlab/Simulink in help of On Load Tap Changer. This done for two selected transmission line in Rwanda Grid network which considered as case study and compare their performance without PST and with PST. The power flow in the transmission line with PST model is done with the help of Matlab software in presence of faults and load variations. Finally, according to the simulation results, it is clear that the system voltages, currents and active power depend on phase angle and their stability can be improved by phase shifting transformer.
