Abstract:
Solid waste transformation practice is essential component in health and economic improvement in human settlements. Rapid increase in volume and types of solid waste as a result of continuous keeping environment clean is becoming a problem to ensure effective and sustainable management of Nduba site. Through transformation on useful products is one of solutions of protecting health and improve economy in Rwanda. This research entitle the Impact of Transforming Solid Waste into Useful Products on health and economic improvement in Rwanda and was guided by the following objectives: to provide the importance of transforming solid waste into useful products in health and economic improvement to Nduba site, to demonstrate the economic impact of transforming solid waste into useful products to Nduba site and Rwanda
in general, to examine the health and economic improvement in Nduba site compare with other sites without dumpsite. The study was carried out in Gasabo District especially in Nduba site. It was examine the Impact of Transforming Solid Waste into Useful Products on health and economic improvement in Rwanda especially in Nduba site; it was cover a period of 4 years from 2015 to 2018. The target population was composed of the people from Nduba site, staffs of Gasabo District, the one in charge of solid waste management in Nduba site. These people were selected using a simple random sampling method. Random sampling is where all elements understudy have equal chances of being chosen. The sample after employing Slovene‘s formula comprises of 151 respondents. All the relevant data was analyzed and evaluated by using primary and secondary data and the results was interpreted accordingly. The frequency and percentage distribution were used to determine the demographic characteristics of the respondents. The mean and correlation was applied. The analyzed data was presented in the form of tables, descriptive were also used. The instrument of the study was self made (questionnaire)
and a set of questions was formulated.
