dc.description.abstract The research purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of project evaluation on performance of one laptop per child project in Rwanda: a case study of MINEDUC‘‘; This research was driven by the statement stated that OLPC project is still implemented but the project still faces the challenges like some schools do not have laptops; they are not connected on the network, struggling with charging and maintaining the laptops; where a school cannot have enough plugs to charge them as well as moving them from their storage to classrooms every day. Thus this study was analyzed the effect of project evaluation of OLPC project on organizational performance to fill that gap and to enhance the educational sector in Rwanda through is policy of ICT in education. The specific objectives of the study are to analyze the effectiveness of One Laptop Per Child project in MINEDUC, to identify the effect of project evaluation on performance of one laptop per child project in MINEDUC and to determine the challenges faced in project evaluation of One Laptop Per child project. The study used a descriptive research design in which both qualitative and quantitative techniques were utilized. Sample size is 99 Students representative, MINEDUC employees and Government authorities in Gasabo District, Nyarugenge District and Kicukiro District. Both primary sources with their relevant tools like questionnaire, documentary in order to come up with required data. The findings of the study shows Respondents also strongly agreed that the Easy Education for child with a mean score of 4.4667 and standard deviation of 1.10174. Respondents agreed that transforming the education for children around the world with a mean score of 4.7333 and standard deviation of 0.89124 Respondents agreed that care about the Introduction of technology with a mean score of 4.4545 and standard deviation of 1.16585. Respondents agreed that the Children in learning and revising their lessons with a mean score of 4.4485 and standard deviation of 1.16035. Respondents agreed that motivate the children by improving their lifestyle with a mean score of 4.4606 and standard deviation of 1.14496. The majority strongly agreed that one laptop per child project motivate the children by improving their lifestyle. With the data collected from the field the researcher confirmed that one laptop per child. The government of Rwanda has project called One Laptop Per Child, this is the project was launched in 2008; it was supposed that all primary school children own computers to facilitate them in education. en_US
