| dc.description.abstract | Background The implementation of patient voice is crucial in scaling up and spreading local quality improvement efforts and the health system necessitates the patient voice into ongoing reforms to build a strong and a democratic health care system which involves the beneficiaries in decision making. Objective of the study To increase the implementation of patient voice program activities from 21.25 % to 70% by June 2023 Study design This study used pre –post intervention design to implement the PVP program by training of staff and availing required tools in the departments Results The overall results showed that the % of PVP implementation at Nyamata increased from 21.25 % to 93 .7% , results from measuring process and outcome indicators in post project implementation showed that 165 hospital staff oriented in PVP ,20 staff trainers received full PVP training ,434 patient received PVP health education and 110 participated in PVP hospital score cards session ,PVP working manual were approved , 20 hospital staff in charge PVP coordination activities available in hospital , 37 patient gaps identified among them 32 (86 %) hospital gaps identified were successfully resolved and 5 (14 %) were not resolved but Nyamata hospital administration decided to continue advocacy on availability of resources which would facilitate resolution of the remaining patient gaps non resolved Conclusion Training of staff, involving leaders and availing procedure manual and coordination team in working places contributed in increasing implementation of PVP at Nyamata hospital. | en_US |
