dc.description.abstract This study assessed the role of PPP in the availability of essential medicines in health facilities in the Ubungo Municipal Council. The study further determined the role of PPP guidelines, assessed the influence of PPP awareness, and assessed the effects of PPP implementation on the availability of essential medicines in health facilities in the Ubungo Municipal Council. The study employed 118 respondents and a case study methodology in practice. To choose the respondents from whom questionnaires and interview techniques were used to collect pertinent data and information, random and purposeful sampling was used. Precisely, the coefficient analysis of factors that were used to determine the role of PPP guidelines and the availability of essential medicines found a robust positive relationship between PPP guidelines, PPP awareness, and PPP implementations and the availability of essential medicines in health facilities in Ubungo Municipal Council with a coefficient of correlation of 0.5523 and variability of 30.5%. Conclusively, the study recommends that the government develop and implement clear guidelines that outline the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in PPPs for the provision of essential medicines, allocate more funding for the procurement of essential medicines in public health facilities, and actively promote public-private partnerships for the provision of essential medicines by creating a favorable policy environment that encourages private sector investment in the provision of medicines, and by providing incentives to attract private sector partners. en_US
