dc.description.abstract Background: Patient satisfaction, a fulfillment or meeting of expectations of a person from a service is one of the most important measurements to assess the quality of health providers within the health settings. It has been suggested and approved that the patient is the best judge and his/her judgment plays a lot on the quality that many people expect from the health facilities. The satisfaction was reported to have an important impact on the clinical outcome of the patients. Objective: The main objective of this study was to assess the patients‟ satisfaction with perioperative care at Oshen King Faisal Hospital (OKFH). Method: A descriptive Cross Sectional study was conducted from March-April 2017. Stratification based on specialty was done, a total of 145 patients were given a selfadministered questionnaire to fill in study period. All patients aged of 18 years and above of both sexes who spent more than 24 hours after elective surgery, fully conscious who accepted to sign consent were included in the study. To analyze patients‟ satisfaction and factors associated with patients‟ satisfaction, Frequency, percent, mean and standard deviation were calculated for each item. To analyze factors associated with patients satisfaction Chi-square was used. Results: One hundred forty-five consecutive patients over a 6 weeks period were originally enrolled in the study. The overall satisfaction score was 67.43%. Patient characteristics were 53.1% males mean age (36.34±12.23), 42.1% employed, 60% married, 50.3% urban area, 25.5% were operated in orthopedics. Patients‟ satisfaction was lowest for the dimension of fear and concern (mean=57.32, ±13.91), while patients‟ satisfaction score was highest for the dimension of service (mean=82.58, ±19.09). There were no statistically significant of patients‟ sociodemographic and characteristics with perioperative associated with patients‟ satisfaction. Conclusion: A half of the patients were satisfied with peri-operative care provided at Oshen King Faisal Hospital. The findings revealed that none of sociodemographic and characteristics with perioperative care considered in the study was significantly associated with patients‟ satisfaction. en_US
