dc.description.abstract Child growth and development represent essential life stage in human beings. Monitoring growth of children has been recommended as a simple, cheap and affordable method of detecting early growth and help in taking measure to overcome abnormal patterns of growth and health promotion. Inadequate controlled child health lead to several health inconvenient such as neonatal mortality, autism, delay growth and chronic diseases like heart, blood pressure, Respiratory diseases .As child grows, information survey of the early data provides effectiveness of health status of the child and the overall population in general. Moreover, there is no direct data management that can help as a referral for health care practitioner in the third world countries. The development of a community based support platform was implemented to help rural population to frequently evaluate the life progress of the people therein by use of child information. In this system, the anthropometric measurements will be determined to provide a growth status of child under surveillance. In this system, the Sleep Apnea detection has been interfaced with the system as a predictor of the risk of respiratory disorders in infant that can rise when no early control was made. For storage requirements, a Micro SD card Module was provided to hold the memory card and save all data while taking measurement. The arm circumference were measured with a standard deviation of 0.29, 0.40, 0.46, 0,37 and 0.30 for 5 measurements. The test results of the system has shown that the system can reduce the measurement error faced in rural areas, and can be interfaced with the health sectors for well being of the population. It is expected that the implementation of this system in rural area will overcome abnormal growth and related defects. en_US
