dc.description.abstractBackground: Knowledge of anatomy is fundamental for medical training and practice especially in surgery. Surgical notes writing is part of the core surgical skills. However, there is huge variability of anatomy details for most common procedures in CHUK among surgeons and surgical trainees. Objectives: This study assessed the Case Anatomical Knowledge Index (CAKI) score of anatomy content in surgical notes, identified the factors associated with the quality of anatomy content and explored surgeons and trainees’ perceptions about anatomy documentation within surgical cases. Methodology: This was a mixed-methods study with sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected and analyzed in the first place using CAKI scoring tool and a pre-established 5-point Likert Scale questionnaire.
