Abstract:
E-learning has come to be a necessity in excessive schooling establishments and is applied in high learning education at some point of the arena. This study investigates the demanding situations students face when the use of the e-learning devices, the case of college of science and technology at university of Rwanda. There are numerous demanding situations faced by teaching staffs and students all through the use of e-learning in university of Rwanda. This study focuses on challenges faced by students while they are using an e-learning program, factors that influence those challenges and strategies to overcome those challenges. This study uses interview, observation, documentation and questionnaires as data collection methods. To examine challenges in e-learning implementation, the data collection was done using Google form questionnaire and shared toward 77 students and 10 teaching staffs from university of Rwanda, college of science and technology via email and WhatsApp. The findings display factors that influence e-learning challenges (technological factor, poverty and lack of technical support). The study highlights the technological factor as the primary challenges of e-learning within the college of science and technology at university of Rwanda. The effects additionally display that teaching staffs and students are aware about the advantages of using e-learning. They understand themselves as having a mind-set closer to e-learning. However, the primary advantages it is much less steeply priced, can be used anywhere at any time. In the end, the study reveals that having an internet connection, comprehensive training of teaching staff as well as students, and sponsor students for getting materials like laptops, tablets, and smart phones, introduce compulsory e-learning courses in the curricula for all students as the answer to overcome the demanding situations in e-learning implementation at university of Rwanda.
