Abstract:
This study is titled: The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the security of small business- in Rwanda: A case of Agataro-Business in Musanze District. The study was guided by the following objectives: to analyze the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Rwandan small businesses-Agataro in Musanze District, to investigate the role of government funds through ERF1 and ERF2 in ensuring resilience to avoid the failure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Musanze District and to analyze the impacts of awareness and benefits of ERF2 funds on Rwandan small businesses during the Covid-19 period. This qualitative and quantitative study analyzed both primary and secondary data that the researcher collected to enrich the study. Eighty-six (86) respondents became the sample size after applying Sloven's formula. The findings showed that there is an
impact of COVID-19 on aggregate job loss from small business closures. This means that based on the findings mentioned in chapter four, the effects of Covid-19 pandemic on security of small businesses-Agataro in Musanze district are still in lower level but they are there. Therefore, the recommendations are made including to the government of Rwanda to mobilize and organize trainings and funds for innovation in small businesses such as -Agataro in Musanze District. This will make sure that the effects of covid-19 pandemic are over in small businesses, not only in Musanze District but in other districts as well.
